Default Yahoo Cans CEO

It seems the gap in search engine market share between Yahoo and Google continues to accelerate and the Yahoo shareholders have had enough.

Yahoo still has more visitors, longer visits and more content sites than Google and has the best chance of stopping Google from monopolizing the Internet.

Rumors continue to circulate that Yahoo will be bought up by a larger corporation such as Microsoft or AT&T.

It will be interesting to see what kind of changes we see in the short term.

Terry Semel (the former CEO) did a horrible job with Yahoo trying to run the company like a Hollywood movie studio. The guy tried to make Y! a multimedia company instead of focusing on search and advertising. And for his efforts he received something like an $80 million severance package.

Ridiculous.

Interesting....

Only in America can you run a company amuck and walk out with $80 million.

That's my kind of golden parachute.

That is what shareholders should be complaining about. Having a loser walk away rich when he did a horrible job. Pay should be commiserate with performance. You'd have a lot less businesses losing money I bet. But those that did, at least they weren't throwing good money after bad by giving away the farm to former ceo's.
