Yahoo has had 2 major and 1 minor algorithm change sice December 16th. They seem to be doing everything they can to distance themselves from Google results.

The good news is that it is still possible for one site to rank well on both Y and G at the same time. But it's getting a bit trickier to find that balance lately.

Absolutely HHI Golf Guy.

I am seeing fewer and fewer sites rank well in both Google and Yahoo.

While Yahoo still has room for improvement in relevancy I must admit the Yahoo SERPs are looking 100% better than they did a couple of months ago IMHO.

That's true Mack, they are. It still pretty sad though. The relevancy just isn't there.

Great to see you back in the Forum Jade456.

No, the relevancy levels for Yahoo aren’t there yet but at least there has been some improvement which is more than I can say about Google here lately.

I'm number 2 in google and number 1 in yahoo for my two of my keywords. So, for me, I don't see what you are saying.

Default Re: How to gain position on Yahoo

I have an Advanced Access site which Yahoo apparently severly penalized due to real estate agent to agent reciprocal links. I have removed all of these reciprocal links. My site has no template "canned" content, and all of my content is original content. I have far more content than any other realtor site in my area, and I get excellent (page 1 search results) on most of my key words on Google. My question is, how long will it take for Yahoo to re-recognize my site and is there any way to request reinclusion. I know Yahoo slurp, their web spyder looks at my site, but still I show up nowhere on their results. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forums; about your yahoo indexing, I'd seek re inclusion and I'd also get into the forums with some signature links and other types of one way links.

I can't reveal a great deal about TBE's techniques but there have been clients that were former AA site owners who migrated to a new IP and then worked under guidance over the course of about three weeks to get them back to a good PR and indexed.

Keep in mind I'm not an SEO type I'm a Web Designer and PhotoShop instructor, I know only what I learn from people in this forum and those I know to be SEO professionals. I take their advise because it seems to work consistently.

A side note on that;
Be careful about taking some SEO advise because there are thousands of snake oil salesman ready to sell you the 7 day cure for the common cold. First of all a cold doesn't last 7 days and second of all if you buy into it you confirm the salesman's deceptive claim to fame. We see this frequently in alleged real estate web guru's sites that benefit from events that were destined to happen to begin with. Riding the coat tail of trends and forecasting them are two entirely different things.
Maybe we could get VegasMack to ring in on this one.
