Thanks for asking. Dennis pretty much left us here in Orlando alone with the exception of a few offshoot storms. Nothing like Charlie last year which devasted us. Surprising to note though that home prices here actually started going up at a higher rate immediately after the hurricanes of last year. Many out of town buyers thought they would be coming into Florida and buying homes at bargain basement prices since people would want to get out of the way of the hurricanes but it never happened.
Pretty much anywhere you want to live in this country you are going to have to live with mother nature's fury in some form or fashion. You've got mudslides, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, volcanos, meteors (ok... the last one is a bit of an exageration). At least with Hurricanes we have time to prepare and evacuate if needed.
They say we will be seing hurricanes regularly for another 20 to 40 years due to a 1/2 degree temperature increase in the Atlantic Ocean.
