Well....I am not an agent. But I will give you a different perspective. I would not want to sell my home on my own because of one issue. TIME.

Time is money and personally, I don't want to be showing my house to 10-15 people. I don't want to have to run home and show it, or hang around on the weekends to show my home. I don't want to deal with the public. I don't want to return phone calls and chase people down or organize for people to come see my house and then not show up.

The agents fees are worth every penny. Just my two cents....no pun intended.

afm1 you are Absolutely right time and Money and the additional Liability not knowing the local Real Estate Law is enough for me!

That is my biggest problem with FSBO’s Al.

Sellers do not know real estate laws and regulations and can open themselves up to major litigation.

On the other side of the transaction, Buyers are learning that buying a FSBO can be risky. By not having a REALTOR® involved, the Buyer opens themselves up the possibility of discovering flaws in the property they purchased after the seller has moved to another part of the country.

REALTORS® are held to a high standard and are much more careful about making sure that all of the “i”s are doted and “t”s crossed. And should a problem arise after a sale, while the Seller may have relocated the REALTOR® is still local and available to address the problem.

Having a REALTOR® involved just makes good dollars and sense on both sides of the real estate transaction.

Very nice golf guy thats why you make the big bucks! I have another one.

#11 Sellers have their life to attend to work, family, and whatever else.
They would save a lot of stress and money by having an agent take care of everything. That is like those people that go to court in pro per.

#11 buyers who think they're getting a better deal b/c the fsbo owner convinced them that they had a lower price because they do not have to pay commission end up getting a bad deal with no representation and no disclosures.

Great point RLV...I don't understand why anyone would take on the risk! Especailly when you are talking the one of their largest assets if not the largest!
