Matthew is doing great, thanks! It's hard to believe that he will be five years old in the fall. I'm feeling old!
We still love our Joomla platform, and we have made a ton of upgrades to our system - especially over the past few months. We have everything just where we want it, and now Joomla 1.6 is just around the corner. While I love the new features in 1.6, it means a complete overhaul for us. There will be no legacy mode to run our J1.5 apps on J1.6.
One thing that we have been doing is our new CORE360 Agent sites on a limited basis. These are semi-custom web sites that use both Joomla and a special WordPress for Joomla component. This way we can set up a basic site for agents at a reasonable fee and let them customize the site and menu system on the fly. Here's one of those sites that we'll be finishing up soon:
Beverly Serral Real Estate
Another thing we have done is formed a partnership with the Diverse Solutions IDX system. It's a nice map based IDX, but the true power of the system is the back end and contact management. There are a ton of ways that we can set up data capture, and then agents can use the "tag" system to send direct or automated email campaigns to contacts with selected tags. It's a great prospect and lead generation tool.
The one thing that I noticed with Diverse Solutions and other systems is that even though they have great tools, agents still do not understand how to harness their power. So I'm finishing up an e-book that covers everything from good real estate web site layout to collecting data and mining the contact database. I hope to have it available for everyone in the next few weeks. I still have not set a price yet, but I'm thinking it will be somewhere between $69 and $99.
Anyway, I hope all is well and everyone in your life is happy and healthy. TTYL!
