Question Frequency & Density!

Ok Folks since...

Keywords are the prime factor in optimization and since there could be lot of keywords for a webpage.

What is correct proportion of keyword density and keyword frequency for optimizing a webpage optimum?

It depends on your market and the sites you are competing with. A standard rule IMO would be about 7 to 12%. As an example though there are some top ranked sites for Las Vegas that have theirs around 18 to 22%.

This is a good little free tool I use sometimes just to check.

It offers enough information to get you going in the right direction. However there are a few programs that you can pay for that include this with also a few extra functions.

Analyzing frequency and density of targeted KW's on a page can be very misleading. You also have to take into account where these words appear on the page (in the HTML code, not the visible page. CSS div's impact where content appears on a page), what type of tags are used (i.e. standard text, headings, alt tags, etc.) and how they are used (regular, bold, italic, etc.).

To complicate matters even further, I am a proponent of web site themes rather than single page optimization. Single page SEO works fine for KW's that are not very competitive, but for competitive phrases you must reinforce the overall theme of the web site. Themes take into account the primary KW's that you are targeting, related content (phrases) that support the theme, and the site structure as described above and the internal linking strategies.
