Don't do it - especially if the site that you copy from has a higher PR than yours. Google seems to think that the site with the lower PR is the copycat, and drops the "offending" site.

Default Don't Use Duplicate Content

Don’t do it Al.

I have two Missouri Clients that went against my advice and copied each others content (to save time) and both were dropped from Yahoo!.

After the duplicate content was removed they appeared back in the Yahoo! SERPS.

Default Duplicate Content

4 of my website have been recently banned from Yahoo. I believe it is due to duplicate content. I direct visitors to an IDX search page and that could possibly be another reason why I got banned.

Default Duplicate Content

www.thesarasotamls
www.newhomesinsarasotaflorida.com
www.sarasota-waterfront.com
www.luxurysarasotarealestate.com - possible getting rid of this one

The top 3 websites ranked very well in Yahoo until I got penalized.

They are still in the Yahoo index but just penalized. I guess I was not banned, just panalized.

Marc
