Marketing Your Business: A Constant Job!
Your goal is to make as many marketing impressions on current and potential clients as you can. A marketing impression is created every time a current or potential client views or hears a marketing message from you. All successful businesses market themselves 100% of the time. Here are some guidelines:
• Personalize your impressions whenever possible.
• Your message must consistently be "I'm here to fulfill your needs. Plus, I can do it better than anybody else."
• Always sell your benefits, not just your features.
• You don't have a job, you supply a service.
• You don't offer products, you provide value.
• Create and memorize a 30-second speech that describes your benefits, services and value. Be ready to give it wherever you go.
• Find as many ways as you can to be a resource of information, expertise or assistance. You want people to come to you.
• Constantly update your product line, website and newsletter. Anything new can attract fresh clients, while also bringing back the familiar ones.
• Make sure clients have several means by which to contact you, such as your telephone number, email address, fax number or website.
• Always get testimonials from satisfied customers, and include them on your advertising pieces. • Marketing your business is a constant job, a state of mind. Always keep that in mind.
