I know that Obama has a lot of followers, but to me he is all flash and no substance. Unfortunately, in this fast food, Wal Mart world we live in that can take a person very far - especially in politics.
Obama is all about "change, change, change", but his Robin Hood strategy (take from the rich, give to the poor) borders on socialism. We should have learned by now that you can't throw money at the poor and suddenly make them entrepreneurs, model citizens, and eager workers. And you can't take money from the wealthy and expect growth in industry and jobs.
Watching the news of late, the "change, change. change" I see from Obama is his flip flopping on issues Like offshore drilling, tropps in Iraq, etc). He's also slippery like Bill Clinton - he chooses his words carefully so it is difficult to pin him down on an issue.
I'm not a political fan of McCain, but I admire the man. He is very direct and will tell you EXACTLY how he feels about any issue. It doesn't seem to matter to him if some people don't agree with him. I'm completely against some of the initiatives that McCain wants to move on, but I respect him for not only his convictions, but his ability to express them without playing the spin game.
The problem with Obama, as I see it, is that he just doesn't get it on all fronts, especially the growing Muslim extremist threat across every nation of the world. If Obama wins the election, I predict there will be a honeymoon for 8-12 months. Then all hell will break loose domestically and abroad. Both militarily and economically the U.S. will be near crippled. It will take decades to recover.
That's how much I fear this guy winning the election.
If Obama does have any substance to his words, I would love to hear them. But all that I have read and all that I have seen is typical Democratic/Clinton spin and rhetoric.
