Have you all stopped by my friend Ryan Ward's blog and signed the petition to keep the term MLS free for all of us REALTORS to use in our marketing, and on our websites?

MLS Search

Please stop by and sign the petition, before your board of REALTORS decides that it is a Ethics violation to use the term MLS on your website, or in your URL.

There are already many REALTORS in several market places tied up in legal actions trying to protect their way of life.

I'm on it for sure, I along with Mack build MLS import and RETS import scripts for use with MLS's and this is nonsense so you can believe I'm joining this fight.

Yes I already did on all three of my blogs the posts are in draft and once I get the content for the material I'll link to finished I'll publish them.

I just signed the petition. I had no idea nar was trying to do this - I'm so glad I found out on this blog. This is ridiculous. In a time when the market is so tough, why do they have to make it tougher for us - when they should be trying to make things easier for us. Afterall we pay them dues every year. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE

You can also put links to your articles on sites like Digg or Reddit, if you haven't already done that. Sometimes grass-roots efforts like this can catch on and make changes happen.

My understanding is that it is okay to use the word MLS, as long as you provide a description/disclaimer stating that the client is view only SOME of the MLS through an IDX. Is this true, or is the entire word MLS being banned?

Also, what about the MLS football league? What are they doing about that? Any clue?
