"isn't the smartest"... that's a nice way of insulting someone.

How do you figure that promotion of anything you own isn't smart?

Give me a break. it wasn't meant as an insult.

Promoting a blog as a do follow is not promotion for the blog, but promotion of the do follow. Telling Google you are a do follow is not in your best interest.

Google already knows if your blog is do follow or not.

Well I suppose it is a matter of preference and I don’t think that there was any intent of an insult. It is just a precaution that many website owners feel compelled to do these days and given many recent events caution is not a “bad thing”.

I do understand the hesitation to list sites that are participating in anything these days, however, I feel if you genuinely moderate and scrutinize comments to where they actually contribute to the article and the visitors experience that it does not matter if Google is aware of it or not.

While I am not recommending action either way for those that wish to get exposure for their blogs and encourage useful comments this is a vehicle to get that exposure.

I personally see it as a viable experiment and agree with Jim B that Google is very much aware of any site that runs the “dofollow” plugin.

Time will tell.

That is not the point. Advertising that you are a do follow is the point. What is the purpose in doing so? If you can't figure out the inference there, so be it.

It was not new though there are only few who did it. In other forums there was a thread looking for a list of a do follow blog. I myself is also looking for it and I was glad that I have found some. I saw your blog and I find it interesting I also have a real estate blog I was wondering if we could link exchange mine is Ozfreeonline or maybe this one Madison NJ Real Estate to be link exchange with my sig below.

Another thing I leave some comments on those posted blogs. I find them interesting and has a good content.
