I totally agree I can remember on several occasions when I have accidentally typed in .com meaning to type in .net

Not to mention the difference in the SERP's!

I think .net's and .org's are gaining in popularity and going up in price as a result, because so many good .com domain names are already taken and a lot of the bidding wars are now taking place with these less popular generic top-level domains.
