Actually, There Is an 'I' in 'Team'
We've all heard the adage that "there's no 'I' in 'team,'" but Superbowl MVP Joe Montana says he doesn't believe it -- to a degree. The first step in becoming a strong team member is to make yourself a strong player. Also, team members must ask themselves how they can improve as individuals so that they can help their teammates.
Whether you're quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, or a key player in a sales department, here are some great ways you can help your peers by helping yourself:
Beef up your work ethic. A good work ethic is contagious. The more attentive you are toward work, the more you contribute to a winning office environment. Never be the person who complains. Be known among your colleagues as someone who is committed to excellence and sets the bar high for performance.
Focus on fundamentals. Your job's basic elements are often the most important. Do you have a game plan ready for every workday? Do you stay focused on revenue-producing activity for the majority of the day? Do you avoid time-wasting distractions?
Practice leads to perfection. Sure, reviewing sales presentations and objection responses seems like a chore, but repeatedly honing your approach not only sharpens basic skills, but puts you in a position where you can focus on more difficult challenges since the small ones become easy to handle.
Prepare. Great players and coaches always think five steps ahead. They study their competition carefully and become experts at anticipating opportunity, and prepare to seize it. Stay focused on your tasks at hand, but help your team take the right path with a forward-leaning mentality and business plan.
Compliments of American Home Mortgage Investment Corp.

Yes, and that team can be your own team of agents or even your company "team". I know that here in the Las Vegas real estate market, since things have slowed down a bit, us Re/Max agents have really been sticking together and trying to help out one another within our offices!

Yes, we also help each other out at my brokerage in the Las Vegas home market. We share listings, market to one another, and try to keep a sense of team-building within our office.

Fundamentals have been hige throughout my Las Vegas real estate carrer. if you do not have concrete basics and routines as to how you conduct your business, you will forget tasks, miss out on referrals, and waste a lot of time overall! I am a firm believer in establishing fundamentals!
