Hmmm...most of the "lead providing" agencies like Homevalue.com, Homegains.com, give you crap (pardon my French). You are much better off running a pay per click campaign yourself. That's how they get their leads anyway. Most of those leads you get from them are no different from leads you can get on your own.

An old saying - real estate commissions come from what an agent creates, it is not something just happens.

You said it Portland. I would go ahead and put the money into doing it on your own before I would go with one of those companies. Have you considered joining a team? I know that a commission slpit does not sound too attractive at first, but if you consider the fact that you would be given leads (which are typically not "crap" becasue the lead agent wants to get paid as well), it kind of solves your problem. Here in the Las Vegas real estate market, things are really competitive and joining a team can help relieve the stress of having to procure your own business.

I would have to agree that with the time and money you will out into someone else's lead program, you could put into your own and reap all of the benefits! I have not heard much of a positive repsonse from the companies mentioned, or others like them. I also think that the team option is a good one. If you are having trouble precurring business or would simply like more of it, then a team may be the way to go!

Competition out there is immense, so casting the net and seeing what comes back is important. Determine the cost of each alternative, pick the ones that make sense to you and get ready to throw back the under sized fish.

Yes, I am with you guys, the web is the way to go! By the time you waste the money and energy in other areas, you could have put it into the internet and really been successful. As competitive as the market is today (there are so many Realtors!), you have to put your best efforts forth. In my opinion, the way to do that, is to focus on the web
