Referral Fee
What do you typically charge or receive for a referral fee?

I have done all types of referrals just depending on who the other agent is, but the most common in my area, is 25%. Once again, I have done 30% and I have done 10%, it simply depends on the circumstance!

Yes, here in the Las Vegas real estate market, 25% seems to be standard. You could always try 20% or 30%, but 25% is typically the median!

Re: Referral Fee
most of them seems 25%.The person you should be asking is your broker, not us. Your broker may have a set policy regarding referrals, but also watch out for internet scam artists that say they are referral agents. End up wanting alot of money, not worth it from everything I have researched/found. But a referral from another agent is great way to do business!

Re: Referral Fee
In most real estate markets, 25% seems pretty standard for a referral fee. Here in Minneapolis, we generally charge 25%. However, I have seen some real estate agents who even charge a higher amount up to 35%.
I hope this helps!

Re: Referral Fee
Referral fees on residential mortgages are a violation of RESPA. You will lose your license if you do it. Building referral relationships with realtors and builders is not a violation of RESPA, because even if you become the preferred broker in those relationships, the customer still has the option to go to someone else. You can take a realtor to lunch on Fridays, but you cannot do it under the pretense of a quid pro quo. Your referral has to be done separately from the relationship building.
