Yes the title is deceiving. It's a question not a statement.

I have found in my 10+ years of being a LO that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Real estate agents and loan officers alike prospect each other for free referrals and do they ever come...of course not! You may get lucky here and their but there is no way a loan officer or real estate agent will ever build a lucrative business if it's centered around looking for handouts.

The only way to be successful in the "referral game" is to establish an equally beneficial relationship.

What is an equally beneficial relationship? You basically need to bringing to the table as much, if not more, than you are leaving with (a commission). This can be in the form of services, resources, marketing, etc. In every transaction there is the need for an LO and and agent where both of us make somewhere around 2%. If we both stand to make about the same amount of money, why should only one of us foot the entire marketing bill and risk while the other one gets a free lead?

Doesn't sound like a partnership to me. Sounds more like one person is doing all the work and spending all the money while the other is getting a free ride? If we both stand to benefit, let's stop sitting around waiting on handouts (that will probably never come) and establish a true partnership where we come together as equal teammates leveraging our time, resources and money and be pro-active about finding new business, TOGETHER!

I am a loan officer employed by a national mortgage lender and am looking for true partners in all 50 states. I take a solutions based approach to every partnership and answer the questions: What can I do for you? How can I help you close more transaction? How can help you save money? How can I help you work more efficiently? How can we both bring something to the table (our resource, our money and our time) and be proactive in generating more business?

***This isn't a plug for my marketing firm because we lose money every year, I just want real estate agents to know what resources and tools are available to them.

We offer many different types of lead generation such as automated farming/direct mail, voice broadcasting, telemarketing, client for life programs, printing, mailing, 800 call capture, listing presentations, buyer presentations, and much more...Our products/service are not available to the public and can only be used by my partnering agents. There is zero (in some cases we lose money) mark up in all of our services. Our partnering agents pay cost, as if they owned their own marketing firm or were doing it in-house!

Most agents take advantage of the deep discount and automation my marketing firm offers but some don't.
