Using your logic does that mean Google will discount Realtors reciprocal links and one way links from websites like this and other real estate forums?
I plan to make
www.realestaterag.com more than just an article submission site. I will gradually be adding content as time goes by to make it a valuable, content rich site for the real estate/mortgage consumers.
You might be right about larger sites having an advantage. Who knows. But, a big site was once a small site. I'm don't really understand how this relates to an article website.
I agree that Google will eventually discount links from the generic article website containing numerous unrelated topics because there does not seem to be much value there. The article websites are popping up everywhere. I wanted to make an article rich website for the real estate and mortgage industry because I could not find many out there.
I have to imagine Google would value a link from a page with a real estate related article rich with content that the end consumer finds useful more than "Marc Rasmussen, let me help you buy or sell Sarasota real estate." on a Realtors website page with 50-100 other agents links saying basically the same thing. Where is the value there? I still participate in link exchanges because it seems to work. We will find out if the reciprocals will be discounted in the future.
We all do the link exchange thing for the search engines. In reality, what are the chances of some guy visiting my Sarasota site and going to my link page to find a Realtor in Las Vegas? Slim to none. So is there really much value in those pages other than for the search engines?
Take a look at
www.ezinearticles.com and what they have done. They have over 111,000 articles submitted to their site. I know a few non article writers that use this site to get information from "experts" in various fields. This is valuable to many people which the search engines must like.
Thanks for your feedback. :-)
