This is exactly what I'm doing since switching to a new company. I even placed the ad for the open house since I'm the one sitting it. My new company doesn't allow dual agency so this works out great.

I wholeheartedly agree with you there, SD. New agents will find "old agents" quite eager to pass off their open houses and it's a great way to meet new clients. Those old agents might even plan more of them if they knew they had a willing sitter.
I also firmly believe in networking through other avenues like local clubs (Rotary, the Chamber, etc.) and volunteering. Volunteering is a fabulous way to rub elbows with well-connected people... mass referral potential in that.

This is why I joined this forum. To obtain the useful suggestions from top producing agents. Obviously, motivated agents would view this as a great potential on acquiring new prospects.

One more tip folks when it comes to Open Houses! Have them during the week! Not to many better ways to network especially since we have an extra hour of daylight now!

That makes sense. People seem to be more serious during the week.

I agree, not so many people just "shopping/ browsing around". You tend to pull in more serious buyers!
