Other Search Engines and Directories Secondary Search Engines such as Lycos, Teoma, Alltheweb, Altavista, and others along with Directories like DMOZ can still bring significant traffic.

Hi guys,

i wrote a blog on identifying a quality directory. I hope you will enjoy it. Also I want to thank Greg Boser for his contribution to the post.

Well I owe most of the info to Greg.

Though guys, a little known secret,

Any directory is a good link as long as you dont have to reciprocate to them.

Thanks for the post. I haven't used directories (asside from DMOZ) very often. I might have to start using them more...

What about the bidding directories? Are they viewed the same as normal paid inclusion directories by Google? They seem to offer better PR and most seem to have gained PR on this last update.

Hey Jay,

There are three main factors in SEO. Authority(trust), PR and anchor text.

Directories mean nothing for the first two but for anchor text they mean a lot. You do not have to agree with me but Debra does

The Link Spiel: Sometimes It's Just A Damn Link! The Link Spiel Link Building Blog by Debra Mastaler

Of course if directories are the only things you are doing, I agree with you it aint helping your case a heck a lot.
