Yes we can.
It is still disheartening that Google does give credit to sites that do have a listing in DMOZ.
As a former DMOZ editall it is embarrassing to see the quality of the sites that are included vs. the quality of some of those that are intentionally excluded. Some of them for years.
That being said; regardless of accuracies or inaccuracies in all of the anti-DMOZ rumors and accusations flying around, DMOZ detractors gain considerable credibility by comparing sites side by side.
I have pretty much taken the position of wait and see. I was proud to be a part of DMOZ at one time and felt good about the time spent and contribution I made. While things have changed a great deal since then they can just as easily change back. Let’s hope so anyway.
