I would recommend any Realtors who are trying to get their website listed in Dmoz, go to this forum and thread to voice your opinions and tell of any horror stories you might have about getting your site accepted in Dmoz.

Dmoz is corrupt and until we stand up and voice our concerns and issues, the only ones who will get listed in this sorry excuse for a directory, will be those who are willing to grease an editors palm.

SDRE, this is because of corruption. Dmoz doesnt want to list sites that can compete with some of their buddies, family or those who pay to be listed in your category. There are serveral sites that should be listed. As Mack pointed out it is easier to get a porn site listed than real estate and this is sad.

Great thread VegasMack! It caught my attention right away.

I submitted my site to dmoz.org about six months ago and my site never showed up. I don't know what the problem is - my site looks good and has original content. It's frustrating. I don't think I'll resubmit my site. It will just be a waste of time.

In Chicago there is not even a moderator to start with for DMOZ real estate companies. It is a dead directory.

Real Estate cats are usually handled by the City Editor.

Chicago is not the only city with a stagnate “Real Estate” cat. Most major cities have shown no or few changes in years.

Don’t waste your time complaining about it. It is what it is.

I followed that thread in DP for awhile, and you're absolutley right, it's pointless to waste anytime on the problem. The DMOZ editors talk in circles and you can't get a straight answer to save your life. This whole situation is ridiculous and absurd . There, said my peace on the topic.
