Does anyone like George Soros?
I love Mr. Soros. If you don't know who he is, he is worth around 7 billion dollars. He is a Hungarian immigrant American citizen who became one of the most successful speculators and investors of all time. He is known as the man who broke the Bank of England. He is the symbol of capitalism to the end. He is my idol in a sense. I have never seen a man who can be hated and loved so much. As much as every one remember the theatrics "Mr. Gorbachev, take down this wall" etc. and the nuke building campaign of Reagan that put the country in a few trillion dollars of debt in terms of taking down communism, George Soros was the man in the background eating away the foundations of communism with his little non profit organization called Open Society Institute that served all over the communist and oppressed world to create public awareness of individualism multiculturalism and free enterprise in every oppressed and communist country creating a civil disobedience towards the regime. He was looked at as a CIA agent by many dictators and oppressors close to the Soviet Regime around the world (even in Turkey where I am from which is more or less democratic). He lost lives of some dear friends in this civil battle. He became a quiet American hero that noone publicly praised for his services.
What is my point? That same man became an attack victim of Newt Gingrich on CNN. Newt actually criticized the man who took down Communism as a leftist who is making the country to go towards extreme left because he setup moveon.org against Bush. This same man funded individual freedoms all over the world, he is adored by all the free people of the newly liberated world. The fact that Soros does not like Bush (like 2/3rds of the Americans) and told the world if someone guaranteed that Bush would not be president, he would give his whole wealth and actually backs his mouth with his money, makes him a true American hero of liberties. Newt, with all due respect, you have no idea what you are talking about in terms of leftism. or being a true socialist. Sorry guys I am not voting for Newt like you guys because in my eyes the man does not know anything about history. P.S. I will be stuck in my office for two weeks doing some major programming so you probably wont hear from me for a while.

Mert, I don’t quite understand what you are upset at Newt Gingrich for. The man you call your “idol” is a leftist. It’s well known that Soros has donated billions in his lifetime, but it’s also known that a significant portion of that money has been donated to liberal causes here in the U.S. Some of the groups that are funded by Soros are America Coming Together, MoveOn.org and the Center for American Progress – every one of these organizations are run by Democrats and have a close allegiance to the party's candidates.
It is also well known that your “idol” is an Atheist. Your “idol” funds a plethora of left wing organizations and fights for everything left, from abortion rights groups to same sex marriages. George Soros has supported and stood by Democrats who said during the Abu Ghraib debacle that; the mistreatment of the Iraqi fighters in the prison is the moral equivalent of the slaughter on 9/11 of 3,000 American citizens. Give me a break. This guy is the ideal leftist.
In fact Mert, your “idol” isn’t near as pretty as the picture you painted him to be. George Soros is not the self-made, holocaust surviving hero you make him out to be. He in all actuality is Nazi collaborator, he has admitted this himself. There are also numerous speculations about the morality of his business dealings and what his motives are. The list goes on and I could write about this guy all day long.
Anyone interested in finding out more about George Soros needs only to Google his name and they can read the countless material for themselves and make up their own minds. As for an answer to your question, “Does anyone like George Soros”, I got to be honest with you man, NO, I don't, not even a little bit.

Re: Does anyone like George Soros?
Honestly speaking I don't know the man, this is the first time I heard of him. And I must say that he doesn't really like Bush I based it on what you have said. I was just thinking what if Bush suddenly kicked off on his position will Mr. Soros give up everything he had?
