MSN After using data from 3rd party vendors, MSN recently launched its own data base driven search engine. Owned by Microsoft, MSN is currently ranked #3 for search volume but has the ability to take over the #1 slot.

Default MSN Has Begun Filtering Out Spammers

It looks as though MSN has begun filtering out spammers.

Although there is still some sites in the SERPS using black hat SEO tactics, the SERPS have improved substantially in the last 30 days IMHO.

Mack

If you look at my serps in MSN for "Boise Idaho Real Estate" you will see that this site is number 1 www boiseidaho-realestate net. Do you have any idea how this guy is getting rankings? I just flat can't figure this one out! Very little backlinks and not even too much on page SEO. Something funny is going on......the site doesn't carry a cache in G. This guy booted me out of number one about 3 weeks ago and he hasn't moved and I just keep dropping!

Yes Jim he is playing, or should I say paying for links.

Most of them are hidden, expired or listed on duplicate pages.

The same problem exists on MSN for the KW phrase “las vegas real estate”.

While MSN has made improvements since the release, they will have to filter these results better is they want to bump Google for the #1 position IMHO.

I'm happy to show up as #1 and #2 at MSN for different keywords... especially since Yahoo and G still don't know I'm alive! Grrrrrr......

Thanks for looking Mack. Even if he is paying for the links he still doesn't have very many yet he is ranking well.

After looking at this guys HP I found his SEO's link to his site. Started reading around in there on how they are achieving results. I came accross this http://www.gnholdings.com/search_eng...imization.html. Now isn't this describing cloaking? I don't know much about cloaking but I think that is what they are doing isn't it?

Default Black Hat SEO

Although Global Network Holdings claims otherwise, when a search engine spider is presented different information than is displayed to visitors on a page it is called cloaking.

I suspect that is also taking place with their back links. That would account for not being able to locate their link on the majority of pages that show up as back links.

Additionally, in MSN www.boiseidaho-realestate net shows 2,863 back links. The overwhelming majority of their BLs has absolutely nothing to do with real estate.

This is pretty much the same black hat techniques used by the webmaster that is #1 for “las vegas real estate”.

An easy fix for MSN to stop this spamming is to filter out non related links and not give the credit for unrelated links in the SERPS.

You should report them to MSN IMHO.

BTW – Before anyone decides to try this, it would appear that the SEO company has had their company website banned by both Google and Yahoo!. Their clients can expect the same treatment in time.

Thanks for looking for me Mack. I think I got another cloaker in my Google serps here www holland-realty com. Once again, no on page SEO and very few Back links. I have reported stuff in the past and no one seems to do anything about it. Do you have any advice as to how to get them to do something? Do you know where to find the cloaking in their code?
