| MSN After using data from 3rd party vendors, MSN recently launched its own data base driven search engine. Owned by Microsoft, MSN is currently ranked #3 for search volume but has the ability to take over the #1 slot. |

Back Links for Miami Beach Condos Site
We are having great luck getting our new Miami Beach Condos site spidered by MSN.
We are now showing almost 3,000 back links in MSN.
My question is, how long before we start showing up in the SERPS on MSN.
Thanks,
Josh

Back Links for Miami Beach Condos Site
Josh,
MSN seems to be picking up back links and new pages much faster than Yahoo or Google.
I would think that you would start showing up in the MSN SERPs for some minor terms soon.
More competitive terms like Miami Beach Condos will take a while longer I am afraid. You will need to continue building themed links.
Just stay away from purchased links as not to draw a penalty from Google. While your site is new enough to still be sand boxed by Google, you will want to be in a good position with them when you pop out of the sand box.
You just need more time and links, links, links, links, links…..

Back Links for Miami Beach Condos Site
Mack,
Speaking of Google, I still show only one back link with them.
Are they just not spidering the site? What is going on?
Also you mentioned that Miami Beach Condos was a competitive search term. How can I determine how competitive a term is?
Thanks,
Josh

Back Links for Miami Beach Condos Site
One of the simplest ways to determine how competitive a term is to do a search in MSN, Yahoo or Google for the term then see how many pages are indexed for that term. It will say something like: towards the top of the page.
The more pages that are indexed, the more competitive the term is.

Ah, the good old days of only 7 million results......
Google won't show you all of your backlinks it counts either. I'm sure its found a lot more, they just keep their cards close to the vest. With google, you just have to have a lot of patience.

Things are going well. Posting and blogging has helped increase my links and I've started a nice link campaign. I'm learning more every day, thanks for asking Al.
