Mortgage web site or templates
One of my colleagues, a mortgage broker, wants to get a website.
Any suggestions on a good SEO friendly site?
Currently I am torn between the A La Mode solution or helping her build based on a template.
Thanks

Mortgage template websites are great as long as you take the existing template and create your own content. If you go to the a la Mode site and go through their list of Mortgage clients, you will find that the majority of website owners have not changed the "canned" content.
Create your own SEO friendly content. I chose a la Mode for my site because I can change the content. Some of the providers require you to submit changes to their staff and that can sometimes take excessive amounts of time.
The key to a successful site is that you need to incorporate it into your marketing plan and not just rely on it to be your "sole" marketing effort.
Many people buy a templete site without optimizing it and wonder why they aren't in the Google/Yahoo top ten or why the phone isn't ringing "because they now "have a website".
Bottom line....if you aren't HTML savy, get a template site. Write search-engine friendly content, customize it and make it your own. Give people a reason to go to your site. Content is king....everyone quotes rates..

Good advice griffin.
Build a content rich site using original content designed for the Mortgage consumer, and then optimize for the search engines.

web site option
You may want to try www.myers.com they have great sites for both mortgage and realtors. also you can edit all pages with your own content as well as add pages. easy to use and they have an excellent admin section with marketing, processing and lead generation. you also get great e-mail service. I shopped and found they also had the lowest prices. check out my site at www.HisHouseMortgage.com
