I ran across a news article with even higher figures on mortgages that adjusted next year Al. I should have kept it. It may have been conventional and sub-prime figures combined.

Even still, the article you linked to has a graph that depicts the Monthly ARM Reset figures to not peak out until November of 08.

That clearly indicates we have not seen the worst in the real estate market yet.

This subprime thing of ours is quite a mess...those numbers are astronomical, it's almost unbelievable. Let's pretend that the problem would be solved today, how long do you think it would take to recover from this?

Ok, the article throws out some big numbers; 7.2 million sub-prime loans, trillions of dollars in loans outstanding. So how does that compair to the total real estate market? Does 7.2 million account for 1%, 10% or 50% of the total loans on the market?

I would not count this as a balanced article. Without a scale to judge the numbers, one can not make a valid conclusion.
