We don't have VOW 2 here in IL. What is it?

Thumbs up

Judyo,

Vow is where they have to login immediately before searching for homes and Vow 2 allows them to search however if they want any more info or to see all pics and not just thumbnails then they have to login!

Hope that helps!

Default VOW and VOW 2 IDX

Our local Missouri Board does not offer Vow or Vow 2.

As an experiment, I created a login page for one of my Missouri clients. All it does is email her the information and transfer the visitor to her search page.

After 2 weeks she is ecstatic with the results.

Within the next few days I am going to hook her up with a 3rd party IDX vendor that offers Vow and Vow 2 and will test both systems more extensively.

My area only allows regular VOW and registration is required per our local MLS. We have no choice unless we want to offer IDX search. IDX only offers a very small percentage of properties though, unlike VOW. I've seen sites that offer both but no matter how it's explained in print I think it's confusing for prospects.

IOW, let's say they don't want to register for VOW. So they start searching using the IDX. They only get 2 properties from that search but they know there are more. They then figure that you're offering them an inferior service, not realizing that if they just registered for VOW they'd get all the available properties.

Now for the cost. It costs $600 annually to offer VOW. It would cost an additional $300 for IDX. I just don't know if it's worth it. I feel if they think it's not a good service they won't stick around or come back. Some might understand the instructions but I think most will not.

One of my prior Broker's websites offered both and even I was confused when I first saw it (prior to having my own sites).

Default VOW and VOW 2 IDX

That is really messed up Judyo.

Most Vows are just a form of registration to access the local MLS/IDX.

You might try looking into a 3rd party vendor.

I haven't found one 3rd party vendor that is allowed! Tight MLS here.

Call your Local Board an see if 3rd party vendors are allowed.

If they are, I can give you a contact.

Judyo...I would look at other sites in your area and see what they are doing to se if they have a legal way around the system! I personally think that should be a antitrust violation!
