Default Judyo and I are in the same boat

I just thought I would reply since judyo recommended this site to me. We are both in the Chicago area and suffer through the same MLS issues. they have a tight hold on all of our information and you can use third parties to build the VOW on your website but they have to get the info from our MLS board, so you just end up paying the fee anyway. It's Chicago politics where information is power. After all, we are original city of "dirty politics" LOL

JT ...the third party solution is really a huge tool if you want a higher conversion ratio...If your local board will supply the data to another vendor like they do in other parts of the country! I used or local board for years big mistake!

Default 3rd Party Vendors

Agreed Al.

Most Local Board MLS leaves much to be desired.

Ask if it is possible to get a “Data Feed” from your local board to allow a 3rd party vendor access JT.

The difference in the conversion rates MORE than offset the cost.

It is funny that you should ask. Right after we were talking about this my company told me that they were working on the ability to attach a search platform that they use with Yahoo for our websites. It is taking awhile but supposedly an answer is coming soon. Right now I use as a seperate entity and it works better than anything I have seen out there. It is very user friendly for the customers and it allows us, as agents, to track all of their movements, from what properties they are looking at, to how when they logon. So, because of this, I have not looked into other IDX, Vow companies because I wanted to see what happens with this...........so keep your fingers crossed for me......

I've got a question for everyone who's using VOW. When there are so many sites out there offering property search (both individuals and big companies - Coldwell Banker, Remax, Century 21,etc.) without registration, how would a site using VOW expect to get the customer? This is particularly true in my market. I've checked pretty much all the competition in most search terms and most are free for all type of searches. That's why I hesitated to implement a VOW solution. Your insights, please?

Max...great question...All I can tell you is that its a lot like the Algorithms! No one knows for sure but in our market VOW 2 Rocks! It allows our conversions to be at 80-100%

Hmmm...very interesting. I should try out what VegasMack did for his Vegas client to set up a dummy registration page and test the result. Thanks, Al.
