I am shopping for an IDX provider in the Philadelphia, PA market. I'd love to use Birdview but they are too expensive. I've narrowed it down to IDXpro or LinkURalty (they resell iHomeFinder's Product). The functions and prices are right with low setup.

Does anybody have any advise or recommendations? Does anyone have experience with iHomeFinder?

Thank you!

The main problems with IDXpro and iHome, as with most commercial idx providers are monthly fee for the idx data and the inability to customize or change things. We provide several custom IDX solutions including smart frames, resizable frames, idx feeds and google geo mapping (similar to birdview). Prices range from $300 to $850. One time charge, no monthly or yearly lease fees for the idx data. We also offer custom programming and reasonable virtual dedicated hosting at reasonable rates.

Example of custom a IDX with over 50,000 listings

Other examples.

The above sites were subcontracted for web designers who used our custom IDX in their own web designs.

Just started this project using Ajax and with resizable frames (no IDX feed)

Direct IDX is a service provider if that is what you are after.

Hi Patrick!

I have a client in the Main Line area that uses Birdview (www.mainlinejohn.com) and so far he likes their system. If you poke around his site, take a look at the Main Line MLS page and the Philadelphia MLS pages. Both use Birdview feeds, but on the Main Line page I created a custom form to limit the search to only Main Line area homes.

If you click on any of the town pages you will see a property search box. Once again, this custom form pulls the data from Birdview, but limits the search results to that town only.

While Birdview has its limits, you can do some customized forms to retrieve select data sets. If that is useful to your site visitors, along with their contact management database, it may make Birdview a reasonable solution for your MLS needs.
