Ok Folks,

We are starting to see a lot of Free Home Buyers Seminars out there!

My question is how effective are they and are they really worth the time?

For any of you experienced in this area or if you have an opinion would you please give us your thoughts and maybe share some of the does and dont's!

They can be effective but you have to target your audience and where they are coming from. It's not enough to just rent out a meeting room and put an ad in the paper - chances are you won't have very good results with that. You have to target these people, make phone calls, send invitations...

It can be worthwhile - maybe you can get one person attending committed to working with you - but then you have to consider if there may be a more effective way of reaching these people with less time or money involved.

As a home inspector we have teamed with both agents and mortgage brokers to do first time buyers seminars. What we have done is each took turns presenting to the group so that they got a good variety of information. this also allowed us to split the costs and each could work the leads without competing with one another.

We love doing both first time home buyer and investment property seminars each month. Our team has done these seminars for over five years now, and they have been extremely worthwhile. I would highly recommend to any other realtors to do similar events.
