I am big on marketing. On-line marketing is good for out-of-towner's who are moving to the area but local/print marketing are still SO important.
People are more likely to see local/print marketing because it is everywhere they look - they have to actually look for websites in order to see them.
I have found a couple of really great websites for local/print marketing:
Designs That Sell and
• real estate signs : political campaign signs : Signs and Graphic Design by Buy Great Signs .com •
I really love the first website because it has some great designs for the real estate companies - you can show the interior of the house on the sign and hook people before they even get out of their car.
It also has some great opportunities for the smaller companies and private sellers, too. I don't think that the smaller companies are as competitive in some ways as the bigger companies. I think that this has to do with recognition and reputation. The first website - the designsthatsell.biz one - has marketing tools that allow the smaller companies to develop a reputation and be recognizable. You can have a matching graphic design theme for all of your marketing tools like business cards, yard signs, fliers, etc. I think that is really important because of how many people are getting into real estate nowadays - you really have to push yourself out into the public view, even if you are a smaller company or private seller, if you want to be recognized and develop a good reputation in the area and compete with the bigger companies who advertise all of the time.
