Hey I wanted to get some advice on building links for my blogs. Does anyone have a list of Blog Directories? Or does anyone have any good ideas to help promote and build links to your blog?

Do a google search for it and you will find countless blog directories, mainly seo related pay to get included junk directories. Guys did you know there are 10K new blogs everyday. Throw your hand in the water (or do a google search) I am sure there are so many fish in the water you will find a few.

There are a few good articles on effective link building by Mary McKnight (rsspieces.com) that should shed some light on how to effectively grow your backlinks. She has been very successful in marketing her blog-marketing services by teaching REALTORS how to effectively get attention on the net.

A few rules, leave quality comments.... to other industry favorite blogs....

Make friends of other authority blogs....

Use and abuse the RSS Syndication feeds and all paid and free blog and rss directories.

I've heard of people using blog carnivals to exchange links with other blogs, or just asking to exchange links in a blog roll. Of course, one should mostly focus on having quality content, as other bloggers will comment on what you've written.

Write GREAT Blog articles that are interesting to your peers and visitors and websites will link to you without you asking them.

Become a link magnet instead of a link chaser.

That can't be stressed enough. Great blogs have great content, at least in the eye of their readers. Blogs that recycle content get glanced at then passed over by readers. It takes hard work and a lot of writing to really develop a site. I've seen people do this, and they've reaped the rewards.
