If the page does not have a link somewhere on your site or another link leading to it, the search engines will never find it. So you could put what ever you what on it, it would not matter. Without sometype of link to the external world, you might as well print a hard copy and place it into your file cabnet.

Based on the orginal post, he was talking about pages that are meant for spyders and bots only. These are a bad idea. Google directly states this is a no-no

I think you misunderstood the message that the SEO was trying to get across. I'm pretty sure he didn't mean actual hidden pages, but simply a link page besides the main link page which isn't as easily accessible by average visitors. I think Jade has explained this process better:
