The Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends Announce America's Top 200 Real Estate Agents and Teams

A New Yorker is America's Top Agent with More Than $244 Million in Home Sales While the Nation's Top Team Sold $539 Million in San Diego-Area Real Estate

NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--America's coastal states--from California to Florida to New York--are where America's top real estate agents and teams ply their craft as they claimed top honors in "The Real Estate Top 200," a new national awards event sponsored by The Wall Street Journal and REAL Trends. The Real Estate Top 200 rankings were announced today at the National Association of Realtors' (NAR) Annual Conference and Expo.
The Real Estate Top 200 honored the top 50 residential agents and agent teams in four categories:

Individual agent - Sales volume
Individual agent - Transaction sides (in each real estate transaction, there are two sides that can be represented by a real estate agent: a buyer's and a seller's.)
Agent team - Sales Volume
Agent team - Transaction sides

The winners were chosen from nearly 2,000 submissions from real estate professionals representing hundreds of markets nationwide. A special advertising feature that includes the names of the entire Top 200 appears in today's Wall Street Journal and winners are profiled in lore magazine. Both publications are being distributed at the NAR conference. Thanks for posting these stats! I love being on top of the top producers in the country! Didn't see any from the Las Vegas real estate market though

Looks interesting to see the other half, however take these lists with a grain of salt as they are based only on the repondents. For instance Dolly Lenz is widely recognized as the top New York agent with volume over $300 million last year (or maybe it was 2005) also I found out a couple of years ago that many of the teams that do 1000 plus transactions have HUD contracts wich make up much of their volume, wich is fair I guess but seems unfair to people like Ronnie and Cathy Mathews who do not therefore they actually have built their business to 900 ends per year. Just my 2 cents, but I do love seeing who the big guns are.

Chad, good points, I agree that the large REO agents certainly have an unfair advantage, maybe they should create a "class" for those guys so they can pat each other on the back! Just my 2 cents.

I don't do REO's so I have no idea but do you get 3% on an REO?

That is pretty impressive to be named within the 20! I am shocked that there are not any from the Las Vegas real estate market on there! I am even more suprised, however, that Ocala and Crystal River Florida are both on there!

I think the only reason you don't see any one from Vegas is because no one from Vegas responded. I know of 2 Corey Gieb and Merv Olson both from RE/MAX that did more deals then Ronnie and Cathy Mathews who are on the list. So it is only made up from those that responded. Oh the reason I know this is because RE/MAX lists its top 100 for sides and dollar volume and the 2 people from Vegas where higher then the Mathews. So there are probably others from other companies not represented as well. Still it takes nothing away from those who did respond as all are kicking my behind lol.

Yeah, Chic Olson is a broker with my company here in the Las Vegas real estate market! I was at the last RE/MAX awards here in Vegas, and he was, in fact, named as the top team.
