Yes I saw a shift in
Google back links on my sites too Wayne, and I think you are right on about the larger real estate sites and directories unfortunately. With news papers, national portals and tourist directories showing up in the Top 10 for “city + real estate” I would like to think that
Google is planning more tweaks to the Jagger algorithm for the sake of relevancy.

For those of you who didnt see any changes really in your real estate sites, dont worry. I believe we are going to see come the first of the year a new algo that is going to shake up the real estate industry, Matt Cutts from google has already discussed a new algo coming out after jagger to catch more spam as it pertains to backlinks and blackhat tactics. I believe this new algo will discount recipical links and penalized for unnatural looking interlinking sites, link farms and purchased links.

The
Google "Big Daddy" update you elude to does seem to have the possibility of massive changes for the Real Estate industry, and will have the Search Engine Optimization Pro’s scurrying to adjust if all the planned filters are put into effect.

I believe we are about to see the playing field leveled in Google, lets hope that it comes sooner than later.

I hope your right Wayne. I would feel better though if I were
NOT competing with National real estate portals and newspapers for the search term “city + real estate” and I don’t believe that is what the average searchers are looking for. Perhaps the “Big Daddy” update will address this.
