Actually, where are you seeing that. If I look in Firefox I see that Google has about 500 more pages indexed for that site over mine, but yahoo has me with more than 2x as many back links as that site. Now that is not a comment on the quality of those backlinks as a slug of them are Activerain and similar backlinks, possibly 2000 of the 5000+ backlinks.

It does look like the site owner in question has purchased a older domain recently and 301'd it to their site.

could the difficulty I have been having have anything to do with the way the competitor is Siloing the data about each town. I have noticed a change in how they are grouping information and extensively linking to it??

Hi Jim,

Without digging too deep I did notice that her page seems to have better backlinks.

I am not sure how having identical templates in the same market will play out. Since her domain is older I think I would change up templates to be on the safe side.

I did notice that your page Morristown.php took forever to completely load. You might want to check size and html bloat.

It looks like you have moved ahead of her for now on the search term you listed however, I am still uncomfortable with the similar templates issue.

Just my 2˘ worth,

Thanks for the impute SEOwolf. Though the other domain is older than mine, it had mainly sat idle until about 3 or 4 months after I registered mine and started building links back to it. My morristown page and the main page hung comfortably ahead of the site in question from that time until about 2 months ago. This past week I decided to implement a little theme building using siloing on the morristown page and the main page and actually did not complete what I was going to do on the Morristown page yet and all of the sudden I got the double placement back and moved ahead of the site in question with nothing else done.

PM me if you like, I would be interested in your thoughts.

Jim
