Probably you know the answer of this topic but if you can explain why , better i can it would be great. I think trafic is important to get a better google rank because the more visitors you have, more important is your website. But you can have a lot of trafic if they just play a game on your site. The true is probably in the middle...

Consider the day when google will drop your site. You have to find other traffic resources.

Traffic is not a factor in SERP calculations.

It is my understanding traffic, pages viewed and length of time on the site is a larger portion of the Yahoo algorithm than the Google algo.

IMHO is should be a greater factor than inbound links and/or domain age.

These factors would be a better indication of good content and usability.

Inbound links (as the Search Engines are learning) are too easily to manipulate.

As far as real estate leads, targeted traffic is the best.

Google places almost no weight on traffic and Yahoo does not place much more. If Yahoo placed significant weight on traffic, then several sites would move over me in Yahoo's ranks, and many more would move below me.

Both Google and Yahoo are moving away from inbound links. I'm not sure what will replace them yet. I'm not even sure that Google and Yahoo knows.

Everyone tells me that G doesn't use traffic in their algos so I guess I should believe what they say.

What I don't understand is why G would take out an algo patent for calculating traffic and why would they trick millions of people into voluntarily installing tracking spy ware on their computers, its on mine and probably on yours, if they weren't going to use any of it?

I not saying they don't use, just that they don't use it to determine SERP. Somewhere Google is making big money selling the information it collects. Stop by thier corporate site and read the investers report. It should answer your question.

There are a lot of people who say traffic is being used in the serps to some degree and it will become more important in the future as they try to move away from links.

I hope it becomes more important in the future. Once someone gets to my site they tend to stay for a while.
