Default Google and Advanced Access sites

I understand that Google, like Yahoo, may have it in for all Advanced Access sites. I have removed all links with other AA sites, and my question is if I remove all of the Advanced Access "canned" content, such as buyer/seller info, etc. will this help me to not get penalized? I have a huge amount of unique content on my site, and I currently get excellent results on Google for my key word searches. . I would like to retain Advanced Access because it is a very easy to manage site.

I haven’t ignored this thread or your PM.

I have just been doing some research on the subject.

My advice would still be to look (cautiously) for a new website provider to convert all of your content to a non-network site.

Additionally I would make sure that your Domain was on an IP by itself.

This is NOT a solicitation as I am NOT currently taking on any new clients and I really think you need to act sooner than later.

As far as who to contact I am honestly NOT sure at this time. I know if I were in your situation I would look to a company that did not specialize in real estate sites. Especially the “cookie cutter” template peddlers that have dozens, in not hundreds of sites using the same template.

Usually when I hear an Agent say they want to manage their own site it indicates a low budget for the Internet. That is OK we have all been there. I just don’t want to give you advice that will land you in the same position in a few months.

Optimally a custom web design and assistance from a knowledgeable SEO person would be the way to go. But that isn’t cheap and just got more expensive with all of the changes in the Search Engines. It will be more time consuming to do the SEO and inbound linking now. But then it always takes longer to do it right than it does to do it half a$$ and no one likes to work for free.

Although I still have my Broker’s License I no longer show or sell real estate. I leave that up to my Wife and Son. I learned several years ago that I could not do SEO and sell real estate both well so I had to make a choice.

If I were in the position that I had to hire a designer and SEO person it would without a doubt be HHI Golf Guy. He is among the best but I don’t think he is taking on any new clients. Other than that I would contact Jim Messenger. He is promoting templates on his website at FamousAgents Real Estate. I have not seen his CMS so I can’t comment on it or his prices. I can tell you he ONLY engages in acceptable “White Hat SEO” practices and will not do anything to cause you are your site harm.

Wish I could help more.

Thumbs up Re: Google and Advanced Access sites

Mack once again thanks for sharing and great advice...Having been a former template style site and having gone through the same conversion it does seem rather painful but well worth it...IMHO

The funny part is Jay,

Most sites will say oh Google slapped a few boys' hands and they are back in 30 days, it is worth the risk, etc etc and still continue on the same dirty deeds. Did you realize how REW got so alive when people saw glimmer of hope again. I personally am happy because my site was in the same boat as the rest now I am whiter than white rice in my on page seo. Never going back to that route again that is for sure.

Yeah, they are coming back. Hard lesson to learn. Some still haven't learned it, so I'm sure the slapping will continue. Mack, Ken's site just went live with Jim TODAY. It looks, really, really clean. Some of the new pages are already cached.

Does anyone know if all sites started to return, or just ones that altered their sites and submitted reinclusion requests?

JakeMarsh.com #2 in Denver real estate got back in REW (the only one) in a record time of two weeks.

I know of one that did nothing and another that still has about 30 home page reciprocal links. Both are back.

I saw Ken's new site - looks great. I was a little concerned with how many links they have to the second site. It will be an interesting experiment to watch.

I am thinking about getting one of the agents that I help to try one out...
