As I am sure most of you know, Google has been in the middle of a PR and back link update for the last couple of weeks.

All indications are that reciprocal links have been discounted substantially by Google.

I have had several PMs asking about the pages with the grayed out Google toolbar. This seems to be spreading as the value and number of backlinks decrease.

All indications are that this update is NOT over.

This actually appears to be part of a new filter or algorithm that Google is still defining. There are other Real Estate Forums that state that Google is hand checking sites and I am sure that may be the case in some instances however this is too wide spread for a “Hand Job” and is NOT limited to real estate. I repeat….. NOT limited to real estate sites.

Grey toolbars, in my experience, tend to be glitches in the pr toolbar during a pr update that fixes itself eventually.

How long before you know if it's a glitch in the PR bar or if it's something detrimental to your site? How long does it usually take google to finish updating?
