Question Google SEO Question

I have read a lot of information about allinanchor and allintext in several other forums and I am still confused as to the value of each.

Can someone out there explain to me and the other Members of this forum the importance of allinanchor and allintext rankings if any and how the relate directly to the Google SERPs.

A detailed explanation on how to improve allinanchor and allintext rankings would also be appreciated.

Please “break it down Barney style”.

Thanks,

~VegasMack

allinanchor:keywords

When you use this query, the Google shows the sites that use those keywords in their anchor text (internal and external links). It is assumed that the site that shows up first in this query has the most links with that anchor text, the second site listed has the second most links with that anchor text, etc.

How to improve your allinanchor ranking: build more links with that anchor text.

allintext:keywords

When you use this query, Google reports the sites that use all of these keywords on a given page in their web site. It is assumed that the site that shows up first uses this phrase the most, the site listed second uses this phrase the second most times, etc.

How to improve your allintext ranking: build more pages that use the targeted phrase somewhere in the text on those pages.

While these are good guidelines, keep in mind that they are not absolutes and ranking #1 in these Google search query operators does not guarantee top rankings. Your site still needs to be optimized on-page and off page.

For example, you could stuff your pages full of KW text and rank well in allintext, but your KW spamming will probably hurt your rankings.

You could also build thousands of links using the same anchor text and rank well for allinanchor. But there is also some evidence that if you do not vary your anchor text you may be Sandboxed, or your site could be considered to be link spamming.

As a rule of thumb, for link building I use three primary phrases for each site and distribute the links 60%-20%-20%. That's not to say that I don't build links using other phrases, but my bulk link building follows the 60-20-20 rule.
