Question Portable Navigation Systems

Wow have they ever come down in price lately...

You can now buy a really nice Magellan Maestro for less than $200 and it does as much as my $2000 one in my Navigator.

Plus now the have the portable ones with voice command and Bluetooth!

Any other Navigation experiences out there?

We have a GPS unit hooked up to our laptop and MS streets & trips. We need the laptop anyway and this gives us both. Plus the larger screen is easier to read.

Question Re: Portable Navigation Systems

Neal do you have a Laptop mount in your car or what?

In CA you have to have all portable Nav units permanently mounted to the dash or console as front Windshield mount is not allowed!

We keep it in the passenger seat. It has voice prompts so you don't need to look at the screen. For those times that you need more then a quick glance, pull into a parking lot. Since it's below window level, no one will even see it.
