Hey guys...just looking around for google matches for ezpro and found you guys chatting about it here...just wanted to say that the downloads for Joomla and WordPress are both now working and just a note*...make sure that your server that you test on has ioncube running there.

Looking forward to seeing you guys over there soon and please log in there and give us some feed back on the files =)

However, unfortunately as of checking right now,, the download of the core file is not possible as there is no link pointing to download it?

Also the need to have Ion cube means that this will be an application that will "call home" or is it some more robust encrypted solution such as linked only to a domain name?

I'm just recovering from an experience of having call to home type of encryption. (ie my entire solution is based on availability of a licensing server being reachable from myself and all people dispersed over the globe accessing my site) amongst other shortcomings.

Regards!

Well just because its ioncube encrypted does not "always" mean its calling anything at all - the ONLY call home for us though is a simple back powered-by.. back link and it was coded and tested to not produce any error if our site or company server goes off-line ...as well as it also times out quickly if not found within 3 seconds so as to not slow down page loads. I assure you that your site itself will not be affected nor would the components or plugins - ONLY the "powered by logo" is all that is back linked.

I put in a lot of hrs testing and perfecting that part of my biz products over a year ago so that what you went through with the other guys software doesn't have to happen with us.

Please feel free to ask these types of questions on our forums so that others there may benefit from these types of great questions.

Thanks Chad . That sounds like a very reasonable way to make sure that credit is preserved for your efforts on the software.

However, I am still confused? where is the download link to the Core EzPro Realty File itself?

All other download links on EzProRealty website for joomla component etc is available.. except the link for downloading the main core file!

I would like to use Ezpro realty without the integration of joomla until much later in my testing

Thanks and regards!

..

The simple fact is, you should NEVER fear your webmaster EVER and you should NEVER fear asking questions that are “legitimate, in context and properly placed”. I have noting but full disrespect for anyone who thinks otherwise. We really do have a responsibility to stop the spread of the Natzi mindset in internet professionals and teach people they can break away from control, manipulation and doctors of lies by simply providing them an option.
It is well worth repeating this comment as I have just posted what in about two years, is my third question on the Open Realty forum.

The question was politely phrased and I made it clear that I had taken steps to read documentation, read bug-trackers, read release notes, checked code and that I just needed a little help.

YET AGAIN, I received nothing but a curt response to the effect of, "go away and stop bothering me" - and the forum thread was promptly closed by them (great, so no- one else subscribed there could reply either).

I personally am sick of their attitude. Their product is very nice, albeit with one or two buggy niggles.

In future though, I will simply not bother to ask them a question - it's not worth giving them the opportunutity to be rude.

I've yet to find anyone that isn't at least partially offended by the behavior in OpenRealty forums.

The members that do join the cult do have success in those forums but most people have no desire to be cult members, to wear the white hooded robes, to worship the administrators or any other indoctrination requirement.

Open Realty forums are a bit like an old crime novel. If you size up the administrators (excluding greengiant) you have a cop, a crook and the mystery man. In fact I think we can call it a novel.

The Cop, The Crook and the Mystery Man
A look inside the minds behind OpenRealty
An epic novel about the most reckless forum on the internet.

Well said. There is one, I think, who is decent - but the rest act like children!

I try to be civil when it comes to other people and their forums but none frustrate so many as that one. Its bad taste and bad character to bash others on the web so I'll give them credit for producing a good product.

Not withstanding other posts of similar flavor, they make their own bed. Its got to be rough to sleep in.

Nice touch about the Novel.

I posted elsewhere in this forum that I believe the OR team may be breaking apart at the seams. It doesn't take much to arrive at this conclusion. First one monitor (M) disappeared for several months, then another (P) disappeared completely, not only from the open realty forum but also from his own cms support forum for 5 or 6 months. S is G's alter ego--good guy vs bad guy. Whether they are the same person or different makes little difference because their actions say they are the same.

If you look at the recent 2.5.8 release, what is notable is how little was done and how few contributions from M and P. It also seems that their distaste for wordpress have set them on a time consuming course to create an integrated blog. News Flash - wordpress is already the defacto blog for real estate sites.

I wasn't very active at the time EZ Pro came onto the scene but it appears to have failed. I never thought that a fork of open realty would be a viable endeavor. I believe what will work better as an alternate to realty open is an alternate forum where ideas, addons and other additions could be presented and put into the public domain. Let Greengiant and crew continue to struggle with maintaining the core, of course our ideas would be available to them for the taking.
