Re: Open Realty Fork Discovered
no intention of using Open Realty for content, Thats why I am using Joomla.
Im just not understanding what exactly you are integrating? I plan to use Open Realty to show listing. The images, the details, all that stuff. I am going to use the cms-integration template. That has no navigation. So, I will use Joomla menus to navigate to the listings or searches. Right?
WHat is there to integrate besides the Joomla login working for Open Realty also. I had planned to just skip Joomla logins and use the OPen Realty user logins.
Aslo, how is thEZProRealty component going to work with Joomla AND OPen Realty? I thought EZProRealty was a replacement for Open Realty.

Re: Open Realty Fork Discovered
EZProRealty is only a forked version of OpenRealty. What they did was take the opensource version of OpenRealty, modify it in ways that make it better for modern real estate sites, add in several free addons you would normally have to purchase from addon vendors and completely rebuild the template structure and administrative interface.
They added in key features for working with MLS providers too including features for hotlinking MLS images.
EZProRealty plugin works with OpenRealty or EZProRealty, you can see it working with OpenRealty right here Welcome to the Frontpage which is a temporary domain for building and testing some of the component features. They are hashing out some of the SEF URL things today and Monday but for the most part the URLs look real clean and look like EZProRealty
My WordPress Realty plugin does the same exact thing but for WordPress and its available now. I have no documentation but I will have late next week.

WHat exactly am I looking at on that link? I see a Joomla site. When i click the EZProRealty link, i see Open Realty running in a wrapper? What exactly does the plugin do? is it a Joomla plugin?

Re: Open Realty Fork Discovered
Hi Jared,
Is the Fork still on track? or has there been some change of plans?
I ask, because the download link on [url=http://www.ezprorealty.com/component/option,com_docman/Itemid,61/task,cat_view/gid,1/Downloads
goes to page of ads.
and the website rfsor is throwing up a white page with errors only.
Looking forward to this platform.

Re: Open Realty Fork Discovered
RFSOR isn't even part of the project its just a dead domain we use to test a few things.
Yes the plugin and component is ready as I announced on my blog today. These are complete rebuilds BTW. The previous programmer Mike did the component and plugin and neither worked at all. There was so much wrong with the code it was impossible for programmers to figure out what he did so these are brand spanking new plugins.
Visit the sites today for download.

Re: Open Realty Fork Discovered
Thanks for the update Jared!
Looking forward to ezPro.
One thing I wanted to know. Ezpro Does work alone right? I mean you dont need the joomla bridge?
All thats left now is to be able to down load the Ezpro standalone.
Please update us when its available for download. I just rechecked the eZpro wesbite, no luck.
( p.s I still havent completed reading (absorbing) all the knowledge on your blog)

Re: Open Realty Fork Discovered
Actually,
There is no announcement on Jareds blog today about the release, not that I could find. And I did look around. There are also no downloads available that I see either for these things. Or anything really, just a bunch of download links that go nowhere. Perhaps they are placeholders for ideas?
Last post about anything related to EZProRealty was Oct. 6th about some addons and the component still in beta 2, soon to be released. The sooner we get it, the sooner we can start finding and fixing bugs. ANy project like this will have them.
Just thought I would let anyone reading this know that its not just them, there is still much mystery surrounding it all. No place to download, no clear explanation. We patiently await!
Go Jared, GO! :P

Re: Open Realty Fork Discovered
I downloaded the component you they had and got this error at install:
JInstaller::install: File '/home/devcoop/public_html/tmp/install_48f130ecd03a4/com_ezprorealty/com_ezprorealty/logo.png' does not exist.
just so you know. I dont mind helping to test things. Those guys should completely scrap the frontpage on their website, i dont even know why somebody would create a full page image like that, and so poorly designed.
Just a simple Joomla page with the default template and clear explanations of where the project is at would go a LOOOOONG way to keeping the communties faith strong in the project. Bad links that go to advertising are, well, lame for sure.
Just my opinions of course. I reserve judgement until i actually get something installed.

Re: Open Realty Fork Discovered
Just went to bed and woke up. You guys still online?
Jared, I guess they havent yet fixed the Download link for the Core files. It still goes to an Ad page when clicking the download button for the core files.
Do you have an alternate link or some way to email it to me if possible?
Pity the link is not fixed, or there would be more end users already accelerating the test phase of the software.
Regards
Clyde
