Default Insurance For Realtors

Recently I read an article about NAR president Pat Vredevoogd Combs meeting with Congress to discuss ways to provide cheaper insurance to Realtors. We all know that the reason that the majority of Realtors don't offer insurance is not just high, but outrageous costs.

What I don't understand, and maybe I don't b/c I'm not involved w/ insurance, is how come this problem can't be remedied. I know it's a difficult process, I can only imagine how messy it is to provide insurance to thousands of independent offices and their respective agents, I just wonder if any of you have any suggestions that might help solve this issue.

Cause I tell ya, I don't see Congress solving this issue for us anytime soon.

Great Post Miss PRo...

This is another example of the legacy left from the Clinton's...Oh sorry, that is a whole other subject... But you are right our Medical Costs need to be addressed and remedied yesterday...any suggestions...I know we have plans through our C.A.R. and that helps but they are still outrageous.

I hear you. I think that people feel that we are compensated enough for what we do, so why would we deserve a break? Maybe they are right...who knows! I know that my fellow Realtors here in the Las Vegas real estate market would be happy to catach a break though!

What exactly do mean that we do not "offer" it? Do you mean health insurance or liability or...? I am confused Are you just saying that because we are independent contractors it should be more readily available?

Yes, I am sure that there are other indendent contractor occupations which have the same difficulties, but you would think that they would have offered something to Realtors by now! Who did all of you go through for any types of discounts?
