Lombok, the neighbor island of Bali recently developed into a great spot for investments. The EMAAR Group from Dubai is already in with a major investment of 670 Mio. US$. Lombok gets a new international airport that will be fully operational in 2010 and the whole infrastructure is developing. New roads and 2 new power-plants are under construction and the riverbeds get fixed to avoid floods in the rainy season. Especially the Kaliantan area in the southeast is in the focus of the investors. The local government already took steps and so roads, water- and power-supply as well as telecommunication in this region is in place. The unspoiled nature, white beaches, impressive cliffs and cristal-clear water invite to build resorts and hotels along the coastline. Kaliantan is only 30 minutes away from the new international airport. The prices for property on Lombok are still very moderate but the local broker await a rise same as on Bali in the 90's. Altogether: Lombok is a great spot for investments right now.
