Default Anyone here have a local fsbo site

I am getting ready to launch a website that would allow users to post their property for sale, add photos, etc. This website will be for my local area. I am used to getting visitors to sites by using seo. This will be a different kind of advertising. Does anyone here own a local fsbo site? What marketing techniques did you use? The site is the last site in my sig.

I have a page on my site for fsbos. It does real good in the search engines but I have only had one taker. Sellers just haven't caught on to the internet yet. I have thought about marketing it, but.

I have a local FSBO site called, FSBO in Clark County but haven't used it since 2005. We were so busy with FSBOs in 2005, but it was way too much work, so we kind of let it go. Most of our marketing was direct sales. We had someone calling FSBOs and gettting them to use our program and we had almost 30 FSBOs at our peak!

I converted part of our Missouri Real Estate site to include FSBO back in late 2003. The site ranked extremely well in Google (BTGOG) for most KWP.

After discovering how much I really disliked dealing with the general public on advertising (and collecting payment for it) I discontinued carrying FSBOS in the first part of 2005.

If I had to do it again (and I pray I never do) I would do it very differently.

Would you mind sharing? What did you not like about it? What would you do differently?

Vegas Mack I understand your frustrations. I ran a FSBO company for 3 years and we averaged 30-40 new listing a month here in Indianapolis. The tuff part is that they wanted it all for little as possible. If you give FSBO too many choices then they will destroy your time every day. We ended up with a self listing site and a management system to update the listings. We also had a pay by credit card system for all payments. I ended up waiting 24 hours for any activation so that we could have someone go thru to verify the information. May advice to all (if it’s worth anything) make everything outside the actual listing Ala Cart so that you have revenue stream on all products. You will be willing to do more on the little stuff if you know in the end it’s making you money.

We just redesigned our Las Vegas for Sale by Owner website and relaunched it! We formed a relationship with "The House Detective", a real estate home show in Las Vegas as their featured FSBO Company

Yeah I have an FSBO in Texas and I'm considering seriously about using that plugin I found on Jareds site yesterday. I am using a product called ez-realty though with joomla.

Maybe Jared could convert a copy to ezrealty hint hint. I want my FSBO to have a blog for each of my listing offices that sign up.

FSBO fails every time if its not marketed the way an actual real estate site is marketed. I mean it should look, function and present itself exactly as a Realtor site with the exception of listings being paid for.

PS. Almost to the minimum post requirement for signature links, what are the rules btw

Hello I'm guessing you are referring to the version 1 of the WP OpenRealty plugin? If so I could make a version to work with EZ Realty which might be a good idea. In fact I'll toss the idea to my programmer today.
