The role of real estate practitioners in home sale transactions continues to strengthen, according to the 2005 NAR Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers released in late January. Even with the rise of the Internet in home searches the share of buyers working with practitioners continues to be strong, standing at 90 percent of buyers.

At the same time, the share of FSBO's continues to drop, standing at 13 percent of sellers, down from 14 percent in the 2004 profile. The profile is based on almost 8,000 responses from a surevey of households who bought a home between August 2004 and July 2005.

Well, good news for all of us

I think that the number for using a Realtor are increasing becasue people are finding out just how tough it can be to conduct the sale of your own home, and still cover your back end! For example, when the Las Vegas real estate market was on fire a year or two back, people selling their own homes often times really missed out on the appreciation in which they could have bennefited from!

No doubt. While selling real estate is a fulfilling and enjoyable line of work, it is definitely not a walk in the park. I know many a realtor who has acquired a grey hair or two from real estate stress.

We all know how frustrating FSBOs can be, so it is encouraging that their numbers are decreasing! Lets all, here in the Las Vegas real estate market and everywhere else, keep up the good work

Yeah, it is nice to hear that news! I would love to print out the article and present it to FSBOs here in the Las Vegas real estate market so that they can see the facts! It makes so much more sense to use a professional when dealing with the largest asset in most people's lives
