Would you invest in China?
There's a company down here selling investment properties (well, leases) in China. (nzinvest.co.nz/default2.aspx#ChinaHeading)
I prefer to invest locally and would be very cautious about investing in a different country - let alone a country with a different culture, language, and even alphabet.
What do you think?

Hey Sarah,
I'm having hard enough time investing in different areas within a city. Some clients do cross state investing and I think they're really bold. I can't possibly think of investing in a different country when there's foreign exchange to deal with as well. Gosh, that's doubling the risk.
But then again, I have an investment profile of an 80 year old widow. Who am I to say that it's no good!!!

Overseas Market
I don't know about China, but I do know that many people are starting to look beyond the coasts. The opportunity to work with forign buyers is a growing market for people who travel overseas. Just remember that foreign clients might know a little about real estate and definitely watch the currency fluctuations.

Sarah...I agree...so many variables...I think most people are much safer to stay within the local markets!

I am not sure. I guess that I would have to really investigate and know what I was getting into, or know someone within the market that I trusted. Although it seems sketchy to get into something new and different, I think that there is a lot of money over seas, you just have to know how to invest.

I wouldn't, the people of China won't benefit from your investment, the leadership will. It will help them become more powerful and disregard human rights even more than before.

While I have not yet had the opotunity to invest outside of the Las Vegas real estate market and its surrounding areas, I would be interested in venturing out of the country if I had the right connections. I think that if you have an insider in which you trust and who can guide you along the way, that there is a lot of money to be made across seas!
