Up here in Washington we just learned that the Real estate agent will be gone. Now will be a Real estate Brokers, then there is the Managing Broker if you run a "team", then there is the Designated Broker who runs the office. This will be effective as of June 2010. I guess it will take that long to get all the rules figured out. Better get my brokers license soon.

Thats interesting. Is there a reason why they are requiring everyone to become a broker?

Hmmm...

I'm curious as to why all the changes in your existing Broker/Agent structure?

Is there something that caused them to make this change to the current structure?

I think the reasoning behind it is the "Realtors job" is moving up the Professional level like doctors and attorneys, requirements are going up as well. New agents will have to study real estate law when getting there licenses now. I believe Oregon has this in place already but I'm not sure.But as for going from agent to Broker I really dont understand the difference in names.
