Your are absolutely correct LVH.

.COM owners benefit a great deal from the effort of .NET owners.

The general public will always default to .COM when they don’t have a Domain bookmarked or written down.

Same applies with owners of Domains with hyphens. The public often forgets or simply omits the hyphens. Example: lasvegas-realestate.net can easily be confused with lasvegasrealestate.com.

When dealing with the general public always use the K.I.S.S. rule!
